Retail spending in EBR rose 6.78% in January -- our strongest January since 2009. The bowling tournament arrived in February, we already have 28 film projects lined up for this year and more good things to come. Congratulations to our local businesses -- you are the backbone of our success.

Kip and the Governor announce that Pixomodo will open a studio in BR
Pixomondo, international visual effects company whose work won an Oscar last Sunday night for the movie "Hugo", will open a studio here in May. They have four studios in Germany, plus London, Beijing, Shanghai, Toronto, Los Angeles and...you guessed it, Baton Rouge! 75 new jobs in digital media and a $1.2 million capital investment in our city -- another great win for our team -- Baton Rouge, the State and the Baton Rouge Area Chamber. Kip reads to children at the Mall of Louisiana
Thanks to members of our Mayor's Youth Advisory Council, which includes representatives from our area high schools who work with Kip on volunteer activities in the community. On Feb. 25th, we participated in the Read Across Louisiana program at the Mall of Louisiana with LPB and the LA Association of Educators.

Kip's Celebrity Bowling Challenge to Strike Out Hunger
On February 24th, Kip bowled at the River Center to raise money for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, raising over $20,000 just in advance ticket sales! Thanks to everyone who supported that great event!
